Friday and Saturday were tough over here, as the floor was freshly poly-urethaned and we were under strict orders not to walk on it. The really put a cramp in our daily ritual of making some drinks, heading downstairs for a photo shoot and standing around pondering how great life will be when we can move down there for real. Instead we spent all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday packing, mostly Eric's stuff, as they are going to begin construction of Eric's kitchen/living area soon. We are going to wall off ½ of Eric's apt upstairs so he can continue to have an office and a home for the birds until the final move down. When they will be I have no idea but we are working with an estimation of early to mid-March. So, not that far away!
Finally on Sunday we were able to go into the apartment downstairs, albeit just wearing socks and check out the new floor. Shiny!
In the guest bedroom/office
In the living room facing the kitchen
In the master bedroom we also say they put the frame in for the door going out to the sunroom balcony
In addition to the floors, most progress was made on the master bathroom shower tile
And in the guest bedroom the white tile with the little blue and grey lines went up around the tube and on the wall. In this photo they just look white, but in the light they have a lot of texture
And the cabinets were brought out 4 inches to become flush with the stove in preparation for the countertop delivery, which should be in another week or so.
We have a trash container outside that was covered on Friday but then someone stole the cover sometime in the middle of the night on Friday. With the trash left uncovered we were on constant vigil all weekend making sure no one was dumping their trash in our container. A few people rooted through it to grab supplies, but I let them as long as they were neat—I don't mind if the materials get reused somewhere instead of just thrown away. We put Vincent on guard to keep an eye out. As you can see, he didn't do a very good job. But at least he looks cute

That floor is so shiny! Totally awesome! I can't believe somebody stole the tarp!

ooooooooooo...shiny!
Everything is coming along so nicely. Doesn't it make you gasp when you seen your beautiful range covered in dust?? Hopefully it won't clog up any important holes!
Vincent appears to guard the domicile the way our Sadie does (n't) :)

Hey Patricia--thanks! Yeah, people steal anything that isn't nailed down. It's crazy!
Hey Victoria--yeah the dust makes me nervous, but we plan on using compressed air to clean out everything as soon as all the dusty work is done.
Cats are useless at guarding aren't they? But we still love them...
